Tom looked up as Bill walked into the room and then watched as his twin went from person to person, hugging each of them and smiling at everyone. He saw each face brighten and by the time Bill was finished the rather tired, depressed air that had been in the room was gone. Task complete, Bill bounced over and sat down beside him so that they were all but joined along one side.

Bill was bony, but the closeness still felt good, knee and elbow and all.

"Why?" Tom asked, with a small smile.

Nicked from [info]haylzee

1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.

Just one? Return of the Jedi - watched it four times the first day we had it on video.

2. Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.

Sixth Sense - Rob and I saw it and then we dragged along Soph

3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.

Honestly don't go to see movies in the cinema based off actors, but I do like Ewan McGregor a lot.

4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.

Tom Cruise (I'm with Haylzee on this!)

5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.

The Lost Boys

6. Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.

The Sound of Music or Les Mis

7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.

Rent

8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.

Immortal - it's a very odd movie, but I thought it was really good. Availble on DVD.

9. Name a movie that you own.

LOL - just one? Vamp

10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.

Jon Bon Jovi - he was fabulous in Vampires Los Muertos

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?

I don't think we have them ;)

12. Ever made out in a movie?

Nope, I usually go to the movies to see the movie ;P

13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t yet gotten around to it.

Half Blood Prince

14. Ever walked out of a movie?

Nope

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.

E.T and I cry every time I see it on DVD

16. What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?

Sherlock Holmes

17. What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?

Horror, especially vampires

18. What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?

Pinnochio

19. What movie do you wish you had never seen?

Paranormal Activity - it sucks and is disturbing at the same time, especially if you habitually wake up at about 3am and need to pee!

20. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?

Immortal

21. What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?

The Grudge - shit scary

22. What is the funniest movie you’ve seen?

Undercover Blues (Denis Quaid and Kathleen Turner - I die laughing everytime I see it)

I have none. That worked very well last year and the years before.

But of course you could suggest something useful:

Things Shannachie ought to do in 2010.
Things Shannachie ought to refrain from doing in 2010.

Any ideas?

I don't really make New Years Resolutions as such, but man, 2010, you're going to be The Year When The PhD Is Finally Finished, I tell ya. Other things will undoubtedly also happen, but that's got to be the thing to focus on! *knocks on wood*

Also, not that it feels particularly momentous to be waiting for some fireworks to go off, but nevertheless, Dear Last Decade:

You were fantastic to me and good to me and bad to me and worse to a lot of people who aren't me and I lost people I loved in you, both to death and to foolishness, and I was foolish in you and made mistakes in you and started writing poetry in you and mostly stopped writing poetry in you (the same with fiction, though the music is still going, phew) and did things I took forever to get to grips with in you (well, we were both young and foolish then) and failed at being a good friend in you and hopefully sometimes succeeded at being a good friend in you and broke less bones in you than in the decade before and I now have a lot more degrees and licenses and stuff than I did before you, more regrets, too, I speak more languages, have been to a lot more countries, lived in more places, and generally acquired quite a lot more physical/mental/emotional scars, with (hopefully) the growth that comes along with them. But haven't we all? I also think I am sillier now and more at ease in my skin now and hopefully a better and wiser person now than I was in 1999, so, you know, you were fun (except when you weren't) and here's to a couple more of you for us all!

Happy 2010 and happy 10s, everyone!!!

Today will be the last day at my current job. As of Monday I shall be doing something quite different. I have already vented about this. It still does not feel any better. The most positive thing I can say about it is that I am resigned to it. What else is there to do?

On this note: have a good New Year.

Subject:So I would like your input flist :), pretty please.
Security:Public

My darling husband bought me a BeBook for Christmas (for those who don't know it's an ebook reader :)).
Now I mostly read fanfic and I would like to upload some to it to carry around with me and read from time to time.

I have a set of macros in Word to format documents and print them to PDF for it, so I have that bit sussed, I am just wondering what to put on it. I have already downloaded the Big Bang fics to put on it, but I want more. I have a 4gb SD card desperate for content ;).

So, would you all mind doing me a favour and recc'ing me some fics? I am so behind on most of the fandom archives and comms.

My favouritest of all types of fic is creature fic and bonding fic (bet you never knew that :P), so some of them would be wonderful, but anything will do.

Any rating, any fandom, any genre. All I ask is that they are readable with decent grammar (doesn't have to be perfect, just not gouge my eyes out terrible :)), have a happy ending and contain no character death.

If you want to wax lyrical about a fandom I'm not in and think I will like, please do too :D. It's coming up to the New Year, so new ideas are good as well ;).

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. *hugs*

Merry Christmas to all of you.
The message of course is peace on Earth.
And I wish we had it.

If you would like to know what Santa does after a stressful night in the parcel delivering service industry I recommend the second picture in [info]blaufeuer's blog. It's a revelation.

So I've peeled, chopped and trimmed my way through potatoes, sprouts, parsnips and carrots, I've wrapped fourteen sausages in bacon, wrapped many parcels in paper and I've made 200 peanut butter cups. That means I think it may be time to do this:

♥Merry Christmas♥

I wish you all the joy and peace of the season.
